The Coolest Pilots in Aviation History

I admit that although it’s not of hysterical proportions, but I have flying phobia, damn that this problem doesn’t have a cool name like other uncool phobia that people have! I mean even the most irrational fear of hair has a name, it’s sweetly called Trichophobia, but this very just and practical fear of flying doesn’t even have a proper name?

I am not like I do not fly at all, but throughout the flight it keeps coming back to me whenever the airplane shakes or jumps in a turbulence, and I usually pray that the captain of the ship is smart and skilled enough to handle any tricky situation.

This tiny, hidden under a stern and confident face, fright of mine usually wanes when I start watching a movie and comes back at every jerk, but goes away too, and then the fateful time arrives again, the houses below start growing on me, I can feel them approaching fast inside my head and my dependence on the pilot’s skill seems to become ever so important once again, and then it finally ends when the airplane finally stops near the terminal. I am back to my self, until next time.

I can drive for 16 long hours at a stretch, but that’s me at the wheels, here it’s someone else I have to depend on, although if compared to my driving skills and experience, each and every commercial pilot would have had many more hours and expertise in handling the machine they command, but still, who knows?

After watching the Denzel Washington starrer 2012 movie Flight I have been even more worried, but nevertheless there are all these pilots that are real heroes, cool men who are no less than saviours, at time with food too!
